Tells the story of a beautiful woman, Bathsheba Everdene, and the effect her beauty has on three different men: Gabriel Oak, a farmer; Mr. Boldwood, a wealthy landowner; and Frank Troy, a dashing soldier. Bathsheba is young, impulsive, proud, and foolishly mischievous, a weakness which makes her life unpleasantly complicated, as all three men seek to win her love.
