Sue Thomas became profoundly deaf at eighteen-months old. The only deaf child in her small town community, she was not taught sign language. Reading lips and speaking became her only way to communicate. During her twelve years at school, she was ridiculed for her undeveloped speech. Sue, however, became a master lipreader, and after college was hired by the F.B.I. to use those talents in undercover investigations. Today there is a television series based on her life, "F.B. Eye."

    This was an excellent video! My ASL students learned a lot about growing up as a Deaf child and the struggles that Deaf people can face. They all want to meet the real Sue Thomas now. :-)
