This is a great movie to show my students about Deaf culture and society
Wonderful film! It addresses many important issues. And it's a fun movie! My high school ASL students love it!
I am showing this movie to my ASL club to help them better understand Deaf culture. I will also be showing it to my D/HH student.
The teacher of the D/HH had been searching for this movie. I found it on your site and passed the info on to her. Thanks!
We are not finsihed watching, we will watch over three sessions. Thank you for providing this film!
Great movie to show class for school life unit
This movie showed the struggles that deaf people face both and school and careers while also ending in a fun way!
This family movie teaches ASL, but more importantly, it exposes students to experiences, challenges, opportunities, and values associated with Deaf culture.
I give this movie 4 star
Love watching this movie in ASL I class! It is cute, silly and shows the true struggle for Deaf students in mainstream school.
It's a wonderful movie, I enjoy watching it .
It was a great movie. My students enjoyed it.
This film is a teacher favorite of mine because it gives students insight to so many aspects of Deaf culture, members of the Deaf community, school setting, Deaf norms and it's a feel good film filled with our favorite Deaf celebs/role models.
An excellent show that demonstrates how to combat bullying in a healthy and realistic way. This movie shows that all persons can be in charge of their own success as well as happiness in life. An excellent theme and positive spotlight on the Deaf culture for all to become more aware.
Great movie!
Love this movie! Great for student discussion.
This was an awesome title to watch. SuperDeafy is a hero, but he doesn't have super strength or laser eyes. He's a hero in his own right and that made it very memorable to watch.
I teach ASL to hearing students, in a therapeutic Middle / High school. My students are autistic, have ADHD, are ED, or have behavioral disabilities. This is the 4th year that I have incorporated "No Ordinary Hero: The SuperDeafy Movie" into my curriculum. Each year, all of the students express a great deal of empathy for and interest in the Deaf community. They express support for Jacob's character and dismay at his father, initially, denying him the opportunity to be educated in an ASL classroom and were relieved when Jacob's father became educated on the subject of Deaf education, allowing him to be placed in the ASL classroom. I find that no matter the age of the student or their background, students respond very well to "No Ordinary Hero: The SuperDeafy Movie." It is a valuable educational tool in my ASL classroom as it educates my students with regard to many aspects of Deaf culture and the importance of ASL communication in the education of Deaf children. (The earlier the better.) Perhaps more importantly, it educates my students on the importance of the ADA, acceptance and support of others, and the horrors of bullying. Thank you for carrying this content and for accepting my membership so that I can continue to incorporate such resources into my curriculum and to share them with my students.
I love this movie! I can't wait to show more of my students!
Excellent movie!!! Does a really good job at showing what people go through and how they feel. It is so important to be kind, empathetic and respectful. We are all different and special but that does not make one person better or more normal than another.
Excellent movie and resource for cultural awareness
Great movie
Excellent film, all enjoyed it. It was their first time viewing.
A fun and heartfelt story that can be enjoyed by all ages
This movie was amazing! It has a great message, very emotional moments, and leaves you feeling good.
Such a cute movie with a very powerful message! I loved it and I recommend it to anyone!
A delightful and heartwarming story. I thought about it for days after watching it. I would recommend it highly, and will watch it again myself for sure.
Cute movie, great signing , classroom appropriate, applicable to my curriculum.
SuperDeafy is a great movie with a positive message!
Thank you so much for including this movie. My ASL classes love it. It used to be on Netflix, but it's not there anymore, so imagine my delight in finding that it's here!
Some things in the movie really makes the student realize they are not the only ones experiencing both negative and positive situations.
Excellent video to use in a classroom, either self-contained or included. Stopping at intervals to get student feedback would be very useful.
Loved this movie. It was a great way to see events from the perspective of a deaf person. It was positive and uplifting.
Great movie - must see for all students who are deaf and hard of hearing...
Love that you have this movie. I wanted to show my ASL class. Thanks
