Destinies, a 26-tape set consisting of two half-hour episodes per tape, teaches speaking, listening, and comprehension skills in Spanish. This telenovela, or Spanish soap opera, immerses you in everyday situations with native speakers and introduces cultures, accents, and dialects of Mexico, Spain, Argentina, and Puerto Rico. Your understanding and appreciation of Spanish increases as you become absorbed in this mysterious and entertaining story. The vocabulary in lessons 19-26 includes: directions; more family members; weather; changes in states and conditions; parts of a house; domestic appliances; and more descriptive adjectives. The grammar covers: present and past progressive; imperfect; imperfect and preterit together; por and para; affirmative and negatives; idioms with tener; comparisons; estar and sentirse with adjectives; acabar de; hace, hace ..que; and al + infinitive.
