America's Journey Through Slavery

What is slavery? How and why did slavery grow in America? Who were the people that helped abolish slavery? These questions and more are explored in this series. Using live-action footage from living museums from around the country, re-enactments, animated maps and engaging graphics, each of these programs will help students to better understand the cultural, economic, political and personal effects of slavery and the plight of enslaved people in America.
